Position Overview

King & Bishop is seeking an experienced HR Generalist for a 3–4 month contract assignment covering a maternity leave. This fully on-site role will support a location near Springfield, MA. This individual will serve as the most senior HR professional at the site, acting as a trusted resource for employees and leadership on a wide range of human resources matters. The role reports directly to the VP of HR, who oversees multiple locations.

The ideal candidate is confident, dependable, and experienced in handling employee relations, investigations, performance management, and day‑to‑day HR operations with professionalism and discretion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage daily HR administration across a broad range of human resources functions
  • Support implementation of HR strategies and initiatives aligned with business goals
  • Partner with leadership to ensure HR policies are applied consistently and appropriately
  • Oversee the annual employee performance review process
  • Lead and support employee relations matters, including investigations and recommended corrective actions
  • Develop, coordinate, and deliver internal training programs, including annual HR compliance training
  • Ensure compliance with workplace safety laws, regulations, and reporting requirements
  • Maintain accurate and compliant employee records and HR documentation
  • Track, analyze, and report on key HR metrics
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of human resources experience, with strong employee relations exposure
  • Experience handling investigations, coaching, and performance management
  • Strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment law, and compliance requirements
  • Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and interpersonal skills
  • Reliable, confident, professional, and highly trustworthy
