SUMMARY:
We are seeking an experienced Payroll Administrator who thrives in being part of a dynamic team. The incumbent will be the subject matter expert for multi-state payroll and become skilled in our HRIS system. The incumbent must have a high level of computer skills, payroll savvy and orientation to detail to ensure seamless processing of our payroll.
DUTIES:
- Processes multi-state, bi-weekly payroll for over 500 US employees - both exempt and non-exempt with timeliness and accuracy, applying knowledge of Federal, State and Local payroll laws, tax, and with holdings.
- Ability to register and keep compliance with 25+ states and growing.
- Efficiently and discreetly manage the processing of wage garnishment orders, as required.
- Serves as the internal customer contact for UKG questions or problems.
- Provide Payroll and Time and Attendance trainings to employees and managers.
- Report weekly agency hours to temp agency.
- Process employee changes in HRIS/Payroll system.
- Respond in a timely manner to employment wage verification requests.
- Promptly and accurately answer questions regarding paychecks, withholding tax issues or wage adjustments from employees and help quickly troubleshoot and resolve any pay-related issues.
- Participate in and/or lead special projects and other tasks as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Four-year degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in multi-state payroll.
- Strong knowledge of Exempt vs Non-Exempt employee, and FLSA rules regarding overtime calculation.
- Work confidentially with discretion.
- Demonstrated ability to meet time sensitive deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and strong interpersonal skills at all levels of the organization.
- Self-confident, self-starter with the ability to work independently and within a cross functional team environment.
- Experienced with UKG Pro highly desirable, as is proficiency with MS applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
