This role will lead HR across two manufacturing sites, serving as a trusted advisor to plant leadership while helping shape the employee experience for a workforce of 500 employees. You will lead a team of HR professionals while playing a key role in driving organizational effectiveness, developing leaders, strengthening workforce engagement, and supporting business objectives in a dynamic, fast-paced operational environment.
This role is full-time on-site in Hampden County, MA. This is the senior HR leadership role supporting two unionized manufacturing facilities in the Western Massachusetts area with a combined employee population of more than 500. The position serves as the primary HR business partner to site leadership and is responsible for employee relations, labor relations, investigations, leadership coaching, talent development, workforce planning, compliance, and driving engagement initiatives across both operations.
The ideal candidate is a true operational HR leader who enjoys balancing strategy with execution. This person will spend time on the plant floor building relationships with employees and managers while also partnering with leadership on business objectives, workforce planning, and organizational development. Strong employee relations experience is essential, and labor relations experience is highly preferred. Description Serve as the senior HR leader across two manufacturing facilities, partnering closely with site leadership to drive business performance and workforce effectiveness.
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of HR professionals across multiple locations, building organizational capability and ensuring high-quality support for employees and leaders. Lead complex employee relations matters, investigations, and conflict resolution efforts while ensuring fair and consistent decision-making. Build strong relationships with union representatives and operational teams to foster productive labor-management partnerships. Coach and develop leaders at all levels, helping strengthen leadership capability and team performance.
Use workforce data and key metrics to identify trends, solve challenges, and support informed business decisions. Lead and support change management efforts, helping the organization navigate growth and evolving business needs. Proven HR leader with experience supporting manufacturing, distribution, industrial, or other fast-paced operational environments. Prior union and labor relations experience is highly valued, including exposure to grievance management and contract administration. Comfortable balancing strategic HR leadership with hands-on execution and day-to-day problem solving. Experience leading, mentoring, and developing HR teams while fostering a high-performance, team-oriented environment. Strong employee relations background with experience managing complex investigations, performance issues, and workplace conflict.
Ability to build credibility quickly with both frontline employees and senior leadership teams. Experience partnering closely with operations leaders to support business objectives and workforce performance. Skilled at coaching and developing managers on leadership, accountability, performance management, and employee development.
