OverviewWe are seeking a highly experienced, Mastery‑level IT Project Manager to lead complex, multi‑team initiatives within a dynamic, matrixed environment. This role requires a strategic, self‑sufficient project leader who can quickly understand the broader technology landscape, navigate multiple work streams, and drive projects from initiation through delivery with minimal oversight.
The ideal candidate brings strong technical awareness, deep experience managing financials, and the ability to operate across both Agile and Waterfall teams. You must be able to identify risks early, communicate clearly across levels of leadership, and maintain project momentum amid competing priorities.
Key Responsibilities Project Leadership and Delivery- Manage, direct, and execute major, complex IT projects involving multiple teams and stakeholders.
- Oversee day‑to‑day project activities including scope, schedule, cost, risks, issues, and resource planning.
- Ensure deliverables are met on time, within budget, and aligned to the strategic goals of the organization.
- Drive projects from concept through implementation, ensuring clarity, accountability, and measurable progress.
- Maintain detailed project plans, work breakdown structures, financial forecasts, and status reporting.
- Apply a strategic lens to all project work; avoid order‑taker mindset by proactively identifying impacts, dependencies, and risks across the enterprise.
- Support modernization initiatives, integrations, and platform upgrades.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional technology teams, understanding technical inputs and how they influence scope, timelines, and risk.
- Partner with product, operations, engineering, finance, leadership, and vendor teams in a highly matrixed environment.
- Manage stakeholder expectations, ensuring consistent communication and alignment across departments.
- Identify and resolve ambiguity and driving alignment to keep work on track.
- Own all financial responsibilities for assigned projects, including:
- Accruals
- Forecasting
- Actuals
- Budget tracking and variance analysis
- Ensure accurate reporting and compliance with departmental financial processes.
- Manage vendor relationships, including SOWs, invoices, and contractual obligations.
- Track vendor performance and ensure on‑time delivery of contract deliverables.
- 7+ years of IT project management experience
, including experience leading large programs or portfolios. - 3–5 years in financial services or insurance required.
- Strong financial acumen with hands‑on experience managing accruals, forecasts, budgets, and actuals.
- Experience with integrations, data issues, and multi‑system dependencies.
- 4+ years managing technology projects using both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
- 2+ years vendor management and contract negotiation experience (SOWs, invoicing, vendor deliverables).
- Ability to operate independently, self‑start, and upskill quickly with minimal direction.
- Proven ability to work effectively within large, matrixed organizations and manage senior‑level stakeholders.
- Proficiency with MS Project, Excel, Word, Outlook, and other standard PM tools.
- PMP certification (preferred, not required).
- Background in insurance, wealth management, or financial products.
- Experience supporting modernization, platform migrations, or large‑scale technology transformations.
