Programs Underwriting Director

Responsible for the strategic oversight, profitable growth, and ongoing stewardship of our network of Managing General Agent (MGA) partnerships in the US

Manage relationships with distribution partners and internal stakeholders to ensure profitable growth

Oversee all phases of program lifecycle management

Organize, facilitate, and execute thorough due diligence on prospective program partners

Manage new program builds and ensure clean transitions to steady-state operations

Evaluate and clear complex underwriting referrals

Establish monitoring procedures and lead annual program audits

Lead research, design, and implementation of new insurance products and enhancements

Own the assigned program budget and drive the portfolio to meet premium, growth, and profitability targets

Prepare concise performance dashboards and briefing materials for senior executives

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (B.
  
  A.) from four-year College or university preferred
• 15 plus years of property and casualty experience with significant focus on program underwriting
• Strong filings expertise
• Medical Malpractice and Professional Liability underwriting preferred
• RPLU and/or CPCU or other insurance designations a plus
• Strong command of compliance requirements across jurisdictions
• Ability to maintain consistent, structured communication across internal stakeholders
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly with Microsoft Excel; experience with Salesforce is a plus.
