Position SummaryA regional Field Service Technician will be responsible for performing Field Service activities for all local Orange EV vehicles. The role involves diagnosing, repairing, providing root cause analysis, evaluating Remote Monitoring System data to identify performance concerns, studying vehicle utilization, accurately recording all service work, developing pertinent reports, collaborating with customers and third‑party service providers, providing technical support for sales and marketing efforts, performing field upgrades or retrofits, and facilitating tool and parts warehousing.
With assistance from the Service Team, the Technician will plan and execute a complete Service strategy for the region.
- Understand the vehicle at a systemic/component level to effectively diagnose and repair.
- Represent Orange EV in a professional manner.
- Utilize the Remote Monitoring System and Service Record Keeping System to determine a service plan and prioritize customer needs.
- Accurately record all service activity in the service record‑keeping system.
- Communicate with customers and third‑party service providers to aid in diagnosis or issue escalation and promote efficient repair scenarios.
- Work with the site manager and the electrician regarding the logistics of charging infrastructure location, cost, and timing.
- Evaluate conversion vehicle candidates and prepare a thorough report on the condition.
- Support Customer Technicians and Third‑Party Service Providers with ancillary repairs.
- Provide a secure remote location for tools, parts, and other necessary items.
- Deliver Operator and Maintenance training in addition to sales and business development support.
- Travel as required for initial training and to ensure service team goals and customer needs are met.
- High School Diploma; related technical degree preferred.
- 1 or more years’ experience in the automotive or electrical industries.
- Intermediate to advanced level experience with MS Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Teams.
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing superior customer service.
- Analytical approach to problem solving.
- Ability to routinely lift up to 50 lbs at waist level and occasionally up to 75–100 lbs.
- Ability to squat, sit, lie under, or climb on the vehicle routinely.
- Ability to handle many functions at one time and adjust to rapidly changing priorities and schedules.
- Ability to set and prioritize goals and achieve them according to a schedule.
- Ability to execute and follow through on instructions given by the supervisor.
- Ability to articulate clearly when writing, including composition, spelling, and punctuation.
