Operations Manager
Our client is launching a new Aerospace Machine Shop Division and are seeking an experienced General Manager to lead operations, strategy, and growth.
This is a high-impact leadership role requiring deep expertise in manufacturing, precision machining, and the aerospace industry
. The ideal candidate will bring strong operational leadership, P&L ownership experience, and the ability to scale a division from foundation to high performance.
- Develop and execute the 12–24 month growth strategy for the division
- Establish operational structure, performance metrics, and accountability systems
- Identify new aerospace business opportunities and drive revenue growth
- Oversee day-to-day machine shop operations (CNC machining, production planning, quality, maintenance)
- Improve production efficiency, reduce scrap, and optimize lead times
- Implement Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO, ITAR, and customer-specific requirements
- Full P&L responsibility
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cost controls
- Evaluate capital investments (equipment, automation, staffing)
- Build and develop high-performing teams (production, quality, engineering, supervisors)
- Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement
- Lead workforce planning and talent development initiatives
- 10+ years of experience in aerospace manufacturing or precision machining
- 5+ years in a senior leadership or GM-level role
- Strong knowledge of CNC machining, production planning, and quality systems
- Experience with AS9100, ISO standards, and aerospace compliance requirements
- Proven P&L management experience
- Demonstrated success scaling operations and improving margins
- Background in Tier 1 or Tier 2 aerospace suppliers
- Experience launching or building new divisions
- Lean Six Sigma certification
- ERP system implementation experience
