One of the world's largest retailers is expanding its distribution center network to support increased demand and operational growth. As an Operations Project Manager, you will oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of large-scale operational initiatives across multiple sites.
This role is responsible for driving project execution, managing schedules, coordinating vendors, and ensuring alignment across internal stakeholders. You will serve as the central point of contact for project activities, helping teams stay on track, proactively addressing risks, and ensuring successful delivery of key business initiatives.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, thrives in fast-paced environments, and has experience managing complex projects involving multiple stakeholders, vendors, and timelines.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the execution of cross-functional projects from planning through completion.
- Partner with internal teams, business stakeholders, and external vendors to establish priorities, timelines, and project milestones.
- Coordinate project activities across multiple work streams and locations to ensure successful delivery.
- Track project schedules, dependencies, risks, and action items while ensuring accountability across project teams.
- Facilitate meetings, drive discussions, document decisions, and communicate next steps.
- Communicate project status, risks, issues, and mitigation plans to leadership and stakeholders.
- Identify potential roadblocks and proactively coordinate solutions to maintain project timelines.
- Manage vendor relationships throughout project execution, including coordination, issue resolution, and deliverable tracking.
- Oversee change management activities, purchase orders, invoice approvals, and project documentation.
- Build strong relationships with internal business partners and external vendors across multiple projects.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and project delivery.
- Travel to project sites as needed to support implementation activities and stakeholder coordination.
- Up to 80% domestic travel, including periods of extended travel and occasional weekends.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
- 4+ years of experience in Project Management, Program Management, Operations Management, Implementation Management, Construction Coordination, or a related field.
- Experience managing cross-functional projects with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
- Strong experience coordinating vendors, schedules, deliverables, and project execution activities.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage risks, dependencies, and project timelines.
- Experience supporting large-scale operational, logistics, distribution, warehouse, construction, or facility projects.
- Experience working in fast-paced enterprise environments.
- PMP Certification preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, or similar project management tools.
- Experience managing large programs or PMO initiatives.
- Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement experience is a plus.
