Manufacturing Engineer, Electronics Technician, Quality Engineering
Cooling performance limits high-power computing, semi-conductor fab, cell networks, photonics, power electronics, and most of our digital world. Alloy Enterprises enables customers to break through these constraints with novel complex metal components that dramatically improve heat dissipation in high-performance systems. Alloy’s patented Stack Forging™ process enables complex micro-geometries, resulting in single-piece, leak-tight parts that deliver superior cooling performance, lower pressure drops, and exceptional reliability.
Founded in 2020, Alloy is a 45-person hardtech startup that has raised over $50 million in capital and is shipping components to customers manufacturing servers, lasers, semiconductor equipment, and defense systems.
The Role
The Test Technician is responsible for the controlled assembly and verification of liquid cooling hardware, including cooling plates and fully integrated cooling loops. This role supports production by ensuring assemblies are built in accordance with released work instructions and validated through standardized test methods for leakage, flow performance, pressure drop, and thermal behavior. This work supports both low-volume development efforts and higher-volume production programs.
Work is performed within an ISO 9001‑compliant and ITAR-controlled manufacturing environment. This role requires 5 days onsite per week.
- Responsibilities are subject to change based on shifting business needs.
- Assemble cooling plates and complete cooling loop systems in accordance with released work instructions and controlled documentation.
- Install and verify fluid fittings, tubing, manifolds, and sealing interfaces.
- Ensure proper torque application and sealing integrity.
- Maintain repeatability and consistency across specimens.
- Handle components in accordance with cleanliness and quality requirements.
Execute defined test procedures to confirm product performance, operating, and support test equipment such as:
- Flow measurement systems
- Pressure instrumentation
- Thermal test setups (including installing thermocouples on cold plates)
- Data acquisition tools
Document test results in accordance with quality system requirements.
- Follow company policies and procedures, including safety regulations, personal protective equipment requirements, Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, and Good Manufacturing Procedures.
- Review and update manufacturing records and work orders, identify and correct errors, and submit finished documentation for quality release.
- Perform quality checks and inspections.
- Inspect final parts, test material properties, and record data.
- Support troubleshooting efforts.
- Provide feedback to help make improvements and identify issues.
- Support inventory tracking, shipping, and receiving.
- Other duties as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Technical training or an associate’s degree in a mechanical, manufacturing, or related discipline preferred.
- 3–6 years of hands‑on experience in mechanical assembly, fluid systems, functional testing environments, assembling pressure‑containing or fluid‑based systems, familiarity with threaded fluid connections, experience working with O‑ring and gasket sealing practices, experience using torque tools and standard inspection equipment, ability to follow controlled procedures and work instructions, functional testing experience with fluid systems, experience with leak testing methods such as pressure decay and helium leak checking, familiarity with flow or pressure‑based test setups, familiarity with common thermal testing methods such as surface thermocouples, ability to operate a computer-based data acquisition system and interpret basic test data, experience working in ISO‑controlled or other regulated manufacturing environments, ability to work within ITAR‑controlled environments, ability to occasionally lift up to 25 lbs independently, 50 lbs with assist, familiarity with any of the following is a plus: metrology, 3D printing, robotics, CNC machining, and spreadsheet software.
