ANDRITZ is seeking a Machine Operator I to join our Paper Service team in Springfield, MA. This role is responsible for operating manual and automated equipment to machine precision components while maintaining quality, safety, and productivity standards.
Responsibilities- Set up and operate manual and automated manufacturing equipment.
- Operate knee mills, through-feed routers, CNC router tables, and related equipment.
- Machine long components accurately while meeting dimensional specifications.
- Read and follow engineering drawings, work instructions, and production specifications.
- Inspect parts using measuring tools such as calipers, indicators, and straightedges.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Support continuous improvement, quality standards, and team production goals.
- High school diploma or GED preferred, or equivalent work experience and knowledge.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience operating machining or production equipment.
- Experience with CNC equipment, manual equipment, router tables, or milling machines preferred.
- Ability to read drawings, follow instructions, and work with tight tolerances.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and commitment to safety and quality.
- Experience with polymer or composite materials, CNC controls, or hand finishing is a plus.
