Full-time

Perform a variety of duties associated with the production of firearm components. These duties may be manual or machine oriented.

• Performing routine production work on traditional type equipment in such areas as drilling, cutoff, broaching, shaping, filing, tumbling
• Performing "predictable" inspections such as "Go/No-Go" gauging
• Safely handling and transporting materials, parts, finished goods, supplies, tooling, etc., in and out of departments
• Performing machine loading and assembly tasks
• Keeping work areas and equipment clean, safe and orderly, including emptying/removing chips and maintaining segregated metal scrap
• Performing and inspecting for preventive maintenance
• Hand counting, sorting and boxing parts
• Use of hand tools
• Performing other miscellaneous duties and related functions as directed by supervisor
• Following all prescribed methods and procedures
• Being flexible with regard to work assignments and being directed to work wherever needed to support organizational goals
• Regular attendance (as defined in company policies) is required

• High School/GED preferred
• Prior experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred
• Appropriate training and experience to fulfill all requirements of work areas described above

• Must have working command of the English language
• Must be able to read, write and interpret the English language
• Must be able to communicate in English verbally and in writing (basic verbal instructions, simple written memos and instructions)
• Basic computer skills preferred

• Continuous: standing, walking, lifting, bending, pushing/pulling, and reaching

• Within the Smith & Wesson manufacturing facility, employees may be exposed to manufacturing noise, airborne chemicals, fine particulate dust, ambient temperatures, and industrial lighting
• Work environment is similar to most manufacturing operations
• May be exposed to excessive noise, temperatures, hazards around moving machinery, confined spaces, vibrations, hot temperatures, humidity, odors, dust, mechanical hazards, and occasional chemical hazards

Safety glasses with side shields and hearing protection are required on the manufacturing floor. Additional PPE may be required depending on the task and department.
