Position Summary

The Springfield Family Supports Program Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and advancing the mission of the Springfield Family Supports Coalition by bringing together parents, caregivers, community stakeholders, and service providers to improve access to resources, strengthen family support systems, and address service gaps within the community.

Working closely with the Chief of Family and Child Services and Coalition members, the Coordinator will facilitate strategic planning, community engagement, leadership development, advocacy initiatives, and systems-level collaboration to support families, particularly those involved with or impacted by the Department of Children and Families (DCF). The Coordinator serves as the primary liaison among families, providers, community organizations, and public stakeholders to ensure that family voices drive decision-making and program development.

Coalition Development and Program Coordination
  • Facilitate the development, implementation, and ongoing improvement of the Coalition’s governance structure and operating procedures.
  • Coordinate and guide the development of annual action plans, goals, and budgets in collaboration with Coalition members and the Chief of Family and Child Services.
  • Support the implementation of Coalition initiatives and ensure alignment with strategic priorities.
  • Foster meaningful partnerships among parents, caregivers, service providers, community organizations, and public agencies.
  • Recruit, engage, and retain Coalition members to ensure diverse and consistent participation.
  • Create and implement leadership development opportunities for parent leaders and community volunteers.
  • Coordinate Coalition meetings, work groups, trainings, and community engagement activities.
  • Collaborate with Coalition members to plan and implement events that support family engagement and community awareness.
  • Manage program budgets in partnership with the Chief of Family and Child Services.
  • Develop innovative, systems-based approaches to referrals, care coordination, and comprehensive service delivery.
Data Collection, Evaluation, and Access to Services
  • Develop and maintain data collection and evaluation systems to support data-driven decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Analyze community and program data to identify trends, service gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Utilize data findings to strengthen partnerships and improve access to services for families.
  • Collect and maintain documentation required for programmatic, contractual, and grant reporting.
  • Prepare reports and presentations that communicate outcomes, needs assessments, and program impact.
  • Create opportunities to share findings with stakeholders, community partners, and public officials.
  • Strengthen communication and collaborative planning with DCF offices, Family-Based Services Networks, and other community partners.
Advocacy and Community Engagement
