Position Summary: The Community Program Specialist is responsible for supporting the planning, implementation, and promotion of community-based programs and services. This position serves as a liaison between the organization and the community, providing outreach, participant enrollment assistance, training, and administrative support to ensure the successful delivery of programs and services.
Key Responsibilities Community Outreach and Engagement- Conduct community outreach activities to recruit program participants and promote organizational programs and services.
- Develop and maintain relationships with community members, partners, churches, schools, government agencies, and local organizations.
- Participate in community events, fairs, workshops, and informational sessions.
- Represent the organization professionally in the community.
- Assist individuals and families with the enrollment process for government assistance programs and other community services.
- Maintain accurate participant records and documentation.
- Follow up with participants to ensure successful program participation.
- Answer phone calls, respond to emails, and assist visitors.
- Maintain filing systems, databases, and program records.
- Prepare reports, correspondence, and other program-related documents.
- Assist with scheduling meetings, appointments, and program activities.
- Support all the activities of the different departments.
- Other specifications and additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
- This position is contingent upon the availability of funds and continued financial support from the sponsoring agencies or funding sources.
- Strong ability to train and facilitate educational workshops and presentations.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to engage effectively with diverse populations.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and general computer applications.
- Strong data entry and recordkeeping skills.
- Fully bilingual in English and Spanish (written and verbal)
- Experience with community engagement.
- Comfortable working with diverse communities.
- Reliable personal vehicle and ability to travel throughout the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as required to conduct outreach, training, meetings, and program-related activities.
- Availability to work evenings and weekends when needed for community events and program activities.
- Combination of office-based work and field/community outreach activities.
