Nutrition Center Assistant - Jeremiah's Inn

Overview

Jeremiah’s Inn (JI) is a community of individuals and organizations committed to helping those in our community who suffer from the devastating effects of substance use disorder and Food Insecurity.

As a Nutrition Center Assistant Volunteer
, you will work with the Nutrition Center Coordinator. Duties include stocking, organizing shelves, distributing food, and performing client intakes.

This is an in-person role for someone with a positive happy demeaner. Basic computer skills are helpful. Ability to lift 25 pds is helpful. Bilingual is a plus; most guests are Hispanic/Latino, but we also serve Arabic, French, Vietnamese, and Portuguese speakers. Volunteers must pass a CORI check.

Average time commitment is 4 hours per week. The hours needed for assistance may change. Current shifts available are:

• Monday 11:30 am - 4:00 pm
• Tuesday 10:30 am - 2:30 pm
• Friday 8:30 am - 11:30 am

The location has a small parking lot that is handicap accessible, with additional parking requiring a short walk. It is accessible by bus with a stop across the street.
