Cape Cod Community Food Project Coordinator 2026
Helping Our Women (HOW) educates, empowers and supports women diagnosed with chronic, disabling and/or life‑threatening illnesses. Direct services provided by HOW include transportation for women to medical appointments, programs to promote wellness and social engagement, advocacy and referrals for services and an in‑house Food and Personal care Pantry. Food insecurity is a social determinant of health and plays a critical role in a person’s ability to become and stay healthy.
Individuals and families who lack consistent access to enough healthy food may have a higher risk of developing chronic diseases like obesity, hypertension and diabetes. Food insecurity can also make management of these and other health conditions more challenging.
The VISTA position will help address the immediate needs and root cause of food insecurity in our service area. The role will develop and expand the capacity of a Community Food Project to increase access to nutritious foods for clients and community members through organizing, communication and marketing, volunteer engagement and development.
