Pediatric Nurse Practitioner
Full-Time On-site, Springfield, MA 01103, USA. Reports to Chief Medical Officer. Salary/Status:
Exempt. Minimum Salary: $125,000 – $167,990.
- Current Massachusetts NP licensure and/or eligibility for certification.
- Current Massachusetts Certified Clinical Nurse (CSR) and DEA licenses.
- Certification in Pediatrics or in Family Practice with a special interest in pediatric and adolescent medicine.
- Ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, PAs, NPs, nursing staff, medical assistants, community health workers, nutritionists, social workers, and case managers.
- Previous experience in ambulatory care and/or public health is preferred.
- Desirable:
Fluency in Spanish, Arabic, Russian, Nepali, Pashto, Dari, Swahili, or another language (served at CHC). - Special expertise in provision of health care to underserved, culturally diverse populations.
- Proficiency in assessment and delivery of family planning services to a diverse population.
- Interest in developing and maintaining collaborations with outside institutions and agencies that play a critical role in the health of children and adolescents, e.g., schools and behavioral health agencies.
- Ability to use a computer workstation, view a CRT, and some knowledge of a keyboard.
- Ability to work long and arduous hours as needed.
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments (in-person and via telemedicine, both audio and video).
- Identify potential and actual health problems, both acute and chronic, and together with patient, family/guardian, develop and implement treatment plans that include pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic components.
- Weave discussions about wellness, health promotion, disease prevention, and self-care into patient interactions.
- Assess social determinants of health that may impact the child or adolescent's health trajectory.
- Offer comprehensive clinical family planning services when appropriate.
- Review patient charts and ensure health maintenance issues are addressed in a timely manner and that appropriate treatment plans are developed and followed.
- Complete all charts as soon as possible, but no later than 72 hours after the visit, in a manner that meets all risk management and chart audit requirements.
- Collaborate and consult with CHC physicians and other providers as needed, especially for more complex patients.
- Refer patients to appropriate specialists, practitioners, and facilities when necessary.
- Participate in the Pediatric "On Call" schedule.
- Cooperate with CHC administration to monitor and improve the quality of patient care by evaluating patient outcomes.
- Maintain updated Pediatric Nurse Practitioner guidelines as well as those developed by the American Academy of Pediatrics.
- Participate in peer review of charts.
- Maintain all CME/CEU, Board, and licensing requirements of state and national governing boards.
- Ensure compliance with Caring Health Center’s compliance standards, including Standard of Conduct, Compliance program, and policies and procedures.
Salary ranges from $125,000 to $167,990.
