We are seeking an experienced and passionate Registered Nurse with IBCLC certification to work as a Lactation Services & Parent Education Coordinator. This role partners closely with the Manager of Postpartum/OB Services and plays a key role in advancing quality, education, and patient-centered maternity care.
Position OverviewReporting to the Manager of Postpartum, OB Services, this RN serves as a clinical and operational leader for Lactation Services and Parent Education. The role functions as a clinical resource to nursing staff and interdisciplinary partners, leads quality improvement initiatives, and ensures evidence-based, compliant, and high-quality care delivery across OB Services.
Leadership & Team Support- Support interviewing, onboarding, orientation, and training of new team members
- Provide mentorship and real-time coaching at the unit and department level
- Partner with management on staff feedback, issue escalation, and annual evaluations
- Coordinate staff scheduling and verify timekeeping (Kronos)
- Provide ongoing education to nursing staff, students, midwives, and OB providers
- Collaborate with the OB Educator on staff development initiatives
- Present and participate in monthly Postpartum, Lactation, and Parent Education meetings
- Provide inpatient and outpatient lactation consultations and advice calls as needed
- Serve as a clinical expert and resource for lactation and parent education services
- Lead and manage projects supporting OB Nursing Leadership priorities
- Monitor effectiveness and efficiency of care delivery using data-driven outcomes
- Develop, recommend, and monitor process improvements and redesign initiatives
- Support annual patient care guideline review and quality improvement efforts
- Act as liaison to key departments including L&D, Postpartum, WETU, Quality, PCS, Professional Development, and Nursing Research
- Serve on or liaise with OB clinical committees and the Perinatal Committee
- Implement and track CHAMPS (Communities and Hospitals Advancing Maternity Practices) requirements
- Ensure adherence to system policies, regulatory standards, and applicable laws
- Oversee parent education programs, curriculum, registration, and inpatient education support
- Maintain public-facing content including website and social media in partnership with Marketing & Communications

- Active RN License
- IBCLC certification
- Minimum 3 years of experience in lactation nursing
- BSN Required
Bachelors Degree in Nursing (Required)
Certifications- International Board Certified Lactation Consultant – International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners
- International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners, Registered Nurse – State of Massachusetts
- State of Massachusetts

Typically, a new hire can expect a starting salary somewhere in the lower part of the range. Actual salaries may vary by position and will be determined based on the candidate's relevant experience. No employee will be paid below the minimum of the range.
