Baystate Health, western Massachusetts’s premier healthcare provider and home to Baystate Medical Practices, is looking for an experienced RN Clinical Nursing Supervisor to join our Pulmonary and Infectious Disease team. We have an exciting opportunity for RNs with previous lead or supervisory experience. Must have a passion for team collaboration, systems thinking, change management, process improvement and a “Patient First” mentality.
- Responsibilities include general clinical team oversight for all clinical flow issues with a focus on patient-centered efficiency and satisfaction, ensuring clinical operations comply with required standards and policies, and overseeing mentoring and development for clinical staff. The Clinical Supervisor handles a broad range of day-to-day operational activities, including supervision of clinical staff, participation in quality and service improvement, serving on departmental and interdepartmental committees, and keeping practice management apprised of the practice’s clinical issues and concerns.
The role also includes providing direct patient care as determined by practice needs. - The Clinical Supervisor serves as the overall nursing leader for the practice and partners with ambulatory RNs, LPNs and Medical Assistants to identify and implement educational and developmental opportunities, develop nursing policies and procedures, oversee clinical staffing and schedules, and provide guidance to both management and nursing teams on nursing issues and concerns.
- In close collaboration with the Practice Manager, the Clinical Supervisor will be responsible for interpreting and applying Baystate Health personnel policies and procedures, demonstrating leadership skills that foster a collaborative, team-based environment and coordinating all issues related to development.
- Massachusetts RN licensure and CPR required, BSN preferred.
- 4‑5 years clinical nursing experience required.
- Supervisory, team lead or charge nursing experience required; experience in an ambulatory setting preferred.
- Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in partnership with physicians and other clinicians.
- Preferred candidates will have strong organizational and analytical skills with a focus on process improvement.
- Excellent team building and people‑management skills.
- Demonstrated track record of successful partnership with nursing, physicians and advanced practitioners.
Day-to-day supervision, scheduling, and clinical coverage for clinical team members for Pulmonary Practice, Pulmonary Rehab, Pulmonary Lab, and Infectious Disease Practice. The Clinical Nurse Supervisor will have oversight for the following:
- 9 Practice RNs
- 7 Medical Assistants
- 12 Respiratory Therapists
- 2 Pulmonary Rehab RNs
- Full-time, 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday
- 3300 Main St, Springfield, MA
Sign on bonuses are paid to external hires only; not applicable for internal or company transfers unless otherwise specified. Former employees are eligible after one year post separation from Baystate Health.

Typically, a new hire can expect a starting salary somewhere in the lower part of the range. Actual salaries may vary by position and will be determined based on the candidate’s relevant experience. No employee will be paid below the minimum of the range.
Pay ranges are listed as hourly for non‑exempt employees and based on assumed full-time commitment for exempt employees.
