Registered Nurse IMC​/PCU​/Stepdown

Job Summary:

Provides comprehensive nursing care to patients in a Medical Intermediate Care Unit, including both medical telemetry and step-down services. Ensures patient safety, manages complex clinical conditions, and collaborates with the healthcare team to deliver optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Assess, plan, and implement individualized nursing care for patients with diverse medical conditions.
• Monitor and manage patients on trachs, vents, high-flow nasal cannula, cardiac drips, BiPAP, and telemetry.
• Respond promptly to patient emergencies and adjust care plans accordingly.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient treatments.
• Document patient findings, interventions, and progress accurately and thoroughly.
• Float between units as needed, maintaining high standards of care across medical-tele and intermediate care settings.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active RN license in good standing.
• Possess 1-2 years of clinical experience in ICU, Stepdown, or Med-Surg units.
• Have current ACLS and BLS certifications.
• Demonstrate proficiency with trachs, vents, telemetry, and cardiac drips.
• Be able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Comply with all facility-specific licensing and staffing requirements, including Massachusetts licensing.
