Baystate Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician to join our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Massachusetts
. Our Davis Neonatal Intensive Care unit at Baystate Children’s Hospital is the region’s only Level III NICU.

• We have a team of neonatologists, neonatal nurse practitioners, residents, pediatric subspecialists, respiratory therapists, and neonatal nutritionists here to care for our littlest patients, 24 hours a day.
• Continuing Care Nursery part of NICU- infants go there to be monitored after they graduate NICU.

The Patient Care Technician role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in patients’ lives while gaining hands‑on clinical experience and building a strong foundation for career growth in healthcare while working alongside a collaborative care team dedicated to delivering high-quality, compassionate patient care.

• Provided safe, age-appropriate patient care, assisting with activities of daily living, mobility, elimination, and personal care while promoting patient dignity and safety.
• Monitored and accurately documented vital signs, weights, intake/output, and other physiological parameters; promptly reported significant changes in patient condition to nursing staff.
• Assisted with treatments, procedures, dressing changes, specimen collection, point-of-care testing, and physician examinations in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
• Provided one-to-one patient observation as needed, recognized changes in patient condition or safety concerns, and responded appropriately to emergency situations.
• Collaborated effectively with nurses, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members while maintaining clear communication, accurate documentation, and patient-centered care.

• Job Type: Full-Time
• Shift: Days
• Hours: 36
• Schedule: Three twelve hour shifts per week
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
