SummaryThe Senior Supplier Quality Engineer – Electronics & Team Lead is responsible for leading the Electronics Supplier Quality function while providing both technical and organizational leadership across a global supplier network.
Responsibilities- Lead, mentor, coach, and develop a team of Supplier Quality Engineers supporting the Electronics commodity, providing technical leadership on complex supplier quality issues, investigations, strategic initiatives, and fostering a culture of quality, collaboration, accountability, and operational excellence.
- Own supplier quality deliverables supporting Electronics category sourcing strategies, supplier governance, and continuity of production while establishing supplier quality strategies that support business growth, manufacturing expansion, dual sourcing, localization efforts, capacity increases, and risk mitigation.
- Develop and monitor KPIs, dashboards, scorecards, and risk metrics to assess supplier performance and quality system effectiveness, while leading executive supplier performance reviews and governance discussions with key suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Provide technical expertise in PCBAs, PCBs, electronic assemblies, Surface Mount Technology (SMT), In-Circuit Testing (ICT), Functional Circuit Testing (FCT), automated assembly processes, and reliability testing, supporting supplier qualification, process validation, manufacturing readiness, new product introductions, supplier transfers, and capacity expansion initiatives.
- Lead supplier selection, qualification, development, and performance management by partnering with suppliers, sub-tier suppliers, Supply Chain Management, and Supplier Development Engineering to drive supplier accountability, continuous improvement, quality improvement plans, corrective action programs, and measurable improvements in quality, delivery, responsiveness, and process capability.
- Lead supplier quality system assessments, process audits, surveillance audits, and root cause investigations, ensuring compliance with corporate quality systems, medical device regulations, supplier quality requirements, and overseeing supplier qualification documentation, process validations, quality plans, inspection strategies, change notifications,
- Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, Procurement, Supplier Development, and Quality to communicate supplier quality performance, emerging risks, and improvement opportunities, influence stakeholder alignment, and provide recommendations to senior leadership regarding supplier quality risks, mitigation strategies, and business objectives.
- Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- 5–8 years of progressive experience (Bachelor's) or 3+ years (Master's) in Supplier Quality Engineering, Quality Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering, preferably within the medical device industry.
- At least 2 years of demonstrated experience providing technical, project, team, or people leadership, supporting electronics manufacturing environments including PCBAs, PCBs, SMT assembly, electronic components, and electronic subsystem suppliers.
- Proven experience leading supplier performance improvement initiatives, cross-functional quality programs, and supplier quality activities within medical devices, pharmaceuticals, aerospace, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
- ASQ CQE, CQA, Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt, or equivalent certification preferred. Experience
