Position SummaryThe MRO FAA Quality Manager is responsible for the overall management, effectiveness, and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System for WGI MRO Services and its FAA Part 145 Repair Station operations.
This position provides independent quality oversight of repair, overhaul, inspection, special process, and return-to-service activities and ensures that work performed by the Repair Station complies with applicable FAA regulations, customer requirements, approved technical data, WGI procedures, and other applicable regulatory approvals.
The Quality Manager serves as a primary quality and regulatory interface with the FAA and other applicable aviation authorities and has the organizational authority necessary to identify quality or regulatory concerns, stop noncompliant work, require corrective action, and prevent the release of nonconforming products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities FAA Part 145 & Regulatory Compliance- Maintain compliance with applicable requirements of 14 CFR Parts 43, 65, and 145 and other regulations applicable to WGI's Repair Station operations.
- Maintain oversight of the FAA Repair Station Certificate, Operations Specifications, ratings, capabilities, and associated regulatory requirements.
- Ensure the Repair Station Manual (RSM), Quality Control Manual (QCM), Training Program, and related procedures remain current and accurately reflect actual Repair Station operations.
- Coordinate revisions to FAA-controlled or accepted manuals and procedures as required.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for FAA surveillance, inspections, audits, investigations, and regulatory correspondence.
- Maintain readiness for unannounced or scheduled FAA surveillance activities.
- Ensure corrective actions resulting from FAA findings are completed, documented, and verified for effectiveness.
- Support compliance with applicable EASA, CAAC, UK CAA, and other international regulatory requirements maintained by WGI.
- Monitor regulatory changes and ensure applicable changes are incorporated into company procedures, training, and operations.
- Develop, implement, maintain, and continuously improve the MRO Quality Management System.
- Ensure quality procedures are properly implemented throughout Repair Station operations.
- Establish measurable quality objectives and monitor performance against established goals.
- Provide Quality performance metrics and trends to senior management.
- Identify systemic quality issues and initiate actions to eliminate recurring problems.
- Promote a culture in which regulatory compliance, product safety, quality, and customer requirements take priority over production pressures.
- Ensure current and applicable technical data is available to personnel performing maintenance, repair, overhaul, and inspection activities.
- Maintain controls for OEM manuals, customer technical data, service bulletins, Airworthiness Directives, repair specifications, drawings, process specifications, and other approved or acceptable technical data.
- Ensure obsolete or superseded technical information is removed from points of use or otherwise controlled.
- Ensure maintenance records and quality records are maintained and retained in accordance with regulatory and customer requirements.
- Maintain appropriate control of FAA forms, Certificates of Conformance, Authorized Release Certificates, and other applicable release documentation.
