Overview
We’re building a world of health around every individual—shaping a more connected, convenient and compassionate health experience. The Store Manager In Training (SMIT) program is a development‑focused role designed to prepare you for a CVS Store Manager position, providing self‑paced, collaborative training over 16 weeks with both virtual and hands‑on learning.
Program StructureDuring the program you will work closely with a District Leader, Human Resources Business Partner, Training Store Manager and your Store Manager coach to develop leadership skills.
Key Skills and Responsibilities- Communicate well verbally and in writing to support and lead your team.
- Perform customer care duties to provide high levels of service.
- Execute merchandising strategies to support store sales growth.
- Manage store inventory and assets to maintain profitability.
- Actively engage with your leader in Key Learning Experiences to support your path to promotion.
- Support the store as a management team member and lead consistently with CVS values and policies.
- Engage colleagues in support of the company’s purpose of helping people on their path to better health.
- Be willing to accept promotion roles with the market you work in and to transfer within the designated market.
Selection for the SMIT position does not guarantee promotion to Store Manager. Promotion depends on performance, availability of openings and other factors. Candidates must be willing to accept a Store Manager role at any location in the designated market and must be able to transfer to other CVS Pharmacy stores within that market.
Minimum Qualifications- High School diploma or GED (required).
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Retail management experience or experience as a CVS Supervisor.
- Ability to work a schedule that may vary based on business needs.

Pay Range: $18.50 – $28.67 per hour (or equivalent annual salary). The actual offer will depend on experience, education, geography and other factors.
