Job Summary

Sales Manager – La‑Z‑Boy Furniture Galleries

Location:

Springfield, MA
Compensation:
Base salary plus unlimited commission.

Responsibilities
  • Guide high‑end clients through a premium sales experience.
  • Create inspired spaces with world‑class furniture and décor.
  • Curate luxury looks while earning commissions with no ceiling.
  • Achieve or surpass store and individual sales goals, annual operating benchmarks, and personal objectives.
  • Promote the In‑home design program.
  • Champion and model the selling process by overseeing floor interaction and evaluating team performance.
  • Provide coaching, training, and support to sales teams to improve techniques, strategies, and overall performance.
  • Ensure staff delivers exceptional customer service and builds long‑term relationships.
  • Build a motivated and cohesive team by recognizing achievements, addressing concerns, and promoting a culture aligned with company values.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor staff to meet sales targets and foster a positive work environment.
  • Maintain brand consistency in store layout, product presentation, and employee interactions.
  • Support marketing initiatives and promotions, ensuring they are executed correctly and aligned with brand positioning.
  • Resolve customer concerns and other issues that may interfere with efficient sales operations.
  • Plan and execute sales promotions and events.
  • Collaborate with support teams to ensure flawless execution of operational excellence.
  • Implement and enforce all existing and new administrative procedures.
  • Uphold brand visual standards by ensuring cleanliness in employee and customer areas.
Minimum Requirements
  • Education:

    High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Experience:

    1–3 years in a retail sales emphasis.
  • Skills:

    Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, financial understanding, adept interpersonal communication, analytical abilities, goal orientation, team management, and customer service.
  • Other:
    Ability to work the schedule dictated by business needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Requirements
  • Experience managing in a retail environment with a strong focus on sales.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Advanced interpersonal and communication skills, and experience building effective relationships.
Supervisory Responsibilities

None.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

Ability to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds; stand for long periods; repetitive hand motions; hearing and listening required; may require sitting, walking, bending, and stooping. Subject to indoor environmental conditions. Must pass background and drug screen.

Compensation & Benefits
  • Training Pay: $20 per hour for 2–6 weeks (no commission).
  • Average earnings after training: $60,000 – $80,000+ (inclusive of base, commission, and bonus).
  • Post‑training base pay: $10,400 per year.
  • Commission and bonus:
    Uncapped commission on written sales – 6% on La‑Z‑Boy Design Sales and 4% on other sales. Monthly bonus up to $1,500 based on store sale goals.
  • Weekly hours: 40.
  • Benefits:
    Medical, vision, dental, and basic life insurance; 401(k) retirement plan with company match up to 6%; 9–11 paid holidays; two weeks prorated vacation for new hires; personal time or state‑mandated sick time.
