Assets Protection Specialist

Starting pay: $24.00–$26.00 per hour; full range: $24.00–$40.80 per hour. Pay is based on labor market, education, work experience, and certifications.

• Use surveillance and intelligence‑led tactics to keep team members and guests safe.
• Monitor guests with Target’s video surveillance system to identify and prevent theft.
• Implement Assets Protection practices and routines to reduce and prevent shortages.
• Document cases accurately and efficiently.
• Identify theft trends by leveraging technology, surveillance, and reporting.
• Respond to security incidents and submit appropriate documentation following AP policy and procedures.
• Promote a physical security and safety culture, creating awareness and training standards.
• Work safely at all times, complying with safety policies and reporting hazards.
• Maintain positive work relationships with public safety officials and law enforcement.
• Participate in legal proceedings as necessary to represent Target’s interests.
• Perform additional duties as required by business needs.

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Meet any state or local licensure and/or other legal requirements related to the position.
• Good communication skills and ability to operate handheld scanners and other technology equipment.
• Effective communication on multiple frequency devices.
• Ability to work both independently and within a team.
• Manage workload, prioritize tasks, and remain focused in a fast‑paced environment.
• Composed under pressure and able to accomplish multiple tasks within established time frames.
• Physical ability to climb ladders, lift up to 40 pounds, and work in varying temperatures and humidity.
• Flexible work schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and peak shopping times.
