Responsible for maintaining all traffic signals in the City and responding to all traffic signal emergencies.
Work is performed under supervision of the Traffic Engineering Foreman.
No supervision is exercised over other employees.
Essential Functions
* Maintains, repairs and replaces traffic signals and control boxes across the City.
* Performs related work as required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
* Considerable knowledge of the standard practices, materials, tools, equipment, and techniques of the trade.
* Considerable knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade.
* Knowledge of traffic signal electronics.
* Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
* Skill in the use and care of tools, equipment and materials of the trade.
Education and Experience
* High school diploma or equivalent, including or supplemented by technical courses relating to the trade.
