Responsibilities:
- Perform a wide variety of repairs, maintenance, installations, etc. for various make and models of semi-trailers and related equipment with an emphasis on bodywork.
- Demonstrate the ability to perform body repairs and/or replace and upgrade a variety of trailer parts including but not limited to panels, roofs, nose rails, lower & upper rails, shortening units and doors.
- Perform detailed inspections of the trailers, providing a description of any problematic areas that need to be addressed.
- Ensure the final work product meets all quality standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Must have a minimum of 3 years' experience as a heavy-duty truck or trailer mechanic.
- Semi-trailer and/or heave duty truck body experience preferred, vans & reefers a plus.
- Must have a strong knowledge regarding the safe handling and operation of trailers, tractors, containers, field offices, forklifts, power jacks, lift gates, power tools, trailer parts and supplies.
- Must have good communication skills.
- Must be able to work independently in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
- Must have own hand tools.
- Must adhere to all company policies including safety practices and policies.
- Must pass a standard pre-employment drug test and physical.
