The Field Service Refrigeration Technician is a full-time, on-the-road role serving the Central and Western Mass Areas. This role is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing commercial and industrial HVAC, mechanical and refrigeration systems at customer locations, ensuring safe and reliable operation. Daily tasks include performing preventive maintenance, diagnosing system issues, completing troubleshooting and repairs, and documenting all work performed in service reports.
The technician will interact with customers on-site, provide clear explanations of work and recommendations, and coordinate with service coordination and team members to manage schedules and respond to service calls. The role may involve participation in an on-call rotation to support emergency service needs and requires adherence to safety standards and company procedures.
- Candidates should possess strong skills in preventive maintenance and routine system inspections for refrigeration and HVAC equipment.
- Candidates should possess solid troubleshooting and diagnostic skills to identify and resolve mechanical and refrigeration issues efficiently.
- Candidates should possess foundational knowledge of electricity, including reading wiring diagrams and working safely with electrical components.
- Candidates should possess hands‑on maintenance and repair skills for commercial refrigeration, HVAC systems, and related mechanical equipment.
- Candidates should possess practical HVAC skills, including system startup, adjustment, and performance optimization.
- Relevant trade school education or technical training in refrigeration/HVAC or a related field is beneficial.
- Applicable licenses or EPA refrigeration certifications, and a valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record, are preferred.
- Ability to work independently in the field, communicate clearly with customers and team members, and follow safety and regulatory requirements.
