Caseworker, Social Work

Overview

The Center for Human Development (CHD) is seeking a Caseworker to join our Diversion, Shelter and Housing (DSH) program working between the Holyoke and Pittsfield offices. This caseworker will work with people who are experiencing homelessness to connect them with resources and find shelter and/or housing for them. The Caseworker will provide triage case work and outreach.

• Provide triage casework and outreach to participants experiencing homelessness, connecting them with shelter, housing, and resources.
• Act as a paraprofessional who supports the agency’s philosophy and maintains a high level of commitment to participants served.
• Establish a supportive relationship with clients to address needs related to mental health, substance use, and housing and facilitate their ability to live independently in the community.

• Experience working with psychiatric disorders or a co-occurring population (preferred)
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution (preferred)
• Substance abuse and mental health experience (preferred)
• Multiple years of experience in case management and social services (preferred)
• High school diploma or GED (required)
• Valid Massachusetts driver’s license with ability to pass background driving record check (required)
• Vehicle readily available on site and throughout all work hours (required)
• Approved criminal background check (CORI) (required)

This is a full-time position, with an 8-hour shift Monday–Friday between 8:00am and 5:00pm.

The caseworker will report to the Holyoke office and then spend part of their day, at least three days a week, in Berkshire County, most likely within the Pittsfield, MA community.

Pay rate is $21.53/hr benefits package includes dental, health and life insurance. Paid time off, earned vacation time, and paid holidays are included.
