Domestic Violence Shelter Advocate

We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Shelter Advocate to support individuals and families impacted by domestic and sexual violence in a residential shelter setting. This role focuses on providing crisis intervention, advocacy, and ongoing support to help survivors rebuild safe, independent lives.

• Provide trauma-informed crisis intervention, safety planning, and emotional support
• Conduct intakes, assessments, and case management
• Connect clients to housing, healthcare, childcare, and community resources
• Facilitate support groups and daily programming
• Support parents and children with guidance, structure, and advocacy
• Maintain accurate documentation and client records
• Assist with daily shelter operations and ensure a safe, supportive environment

• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• 3+ years of experience in case management or working with survivors (highly preferred)
• Strong understanding of trauma-informed care and crisis response
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Flexible schedule (days, evenings, weekends, holidays as needed)
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
