Position: Juvenile Justice Residential Support

Juvenile Justice Residential Support Specialist – Direct Service – Service

Requisition Number: JUVEN
005675 – Full‑time – $20 USD per hour – Community Adolescent Treatment Program – Springfield, MA 01105, USA.

The Center for Human Development (CHD) has an immediate need for Juvenile Justice Residential Support Specialists to provide direct care in a short‑term residential treatment program for troubled adolescents.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct care and supervision of residents at the CHD‑Adolescent Treatment program.
  • Supervise and manage the behavior, activities, and movement of program residents, including community‑sanctioned events.
  • Monitor and provide recreational activities; conduct group meetings.
  • Provide counseling and advocacy for residents.
  • Engage in household activities such as housekeeping and laundry.
  • Provide client transport when appropriate.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have a vehicle for work use and a current driver’s license.
  • Ability to complete medication administration training.
  • Must complete and pass background record screening process.
  • Must be comfortable working in a locked facility.
  • Must be able to attend a 3‑week DYS basic training academy during the day (8:30 am‑5 pm) upon hire.
  • Previous experience in a secure setting is preferred.
  • Ability to work a second‑shift schedule (3 pm‑11 pm) with flexibility to work weekends.

  • Passion for working with people, particularly teenagers.
