Program Description

The Center for Human Development (CHD) invites Master level students in the final year of their degree program to join us as Paid Clinical Interns. We seek motivated individuals passionate about delivering care in community behavioral health settings and eager to participate in a comprehensive, hands‑on learning experience.

Our program offers placement opportunities in our Outpatient Clinics, Community Behavioral Health Center (CBHC), or In‑Home Therapy teams. Each placement requires a minimum of 20 hours and guarantees 1-hour weekly individual supervision. Caseload sizes and weekly expectations vary by clinical location and program requirements.

Clinical Interns also receive opportunities to enroll in our Intern Cohort, attend monthly interdisciplinary meetings focused on clinical skill‑building, and connect with inter‑division shadowing. Specialized training tracks, including Substance Use Disorder and LGBTQIA+ affirming care, are available pending current demand.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in a structured hands‑on learning experience in outpatient, community behavioral health, and in‑home therapy settings.
  • Deliver client‑facing services under weekly supervision, maintaining a caseload that meets program requirements.
  • Apply evidence‑based practices to address presenting problems and engage diverse clients.
  • Attend interdisciplinary meetings, shadowing opportunities, and specialized training tracks.
Qualifications
  • Enrollment in a graduate program in behavioral health (e.g., MSW, MHC, MFT, or related).
  • Commencing final year of master’s coursework and completion of practicum prior to internship (practicum may be completed concurrently with program approval).
  • Strong therapeutic engagement with diverse clients and diagnostic skills.
  • Demonstrated fidelity to evidence‑based practices.
  • Bilingual candidates are a plus.
Compensation

$20 per client‑facing hour.
