AWC Support Staff – Bilingual (English & Spanish) – Part Time.
Location:
Springfield, Massachusetts. This position supports an adult male with Intellectual Developmental Disabilities in a Spanish language family home.
Schedule:
Per‑Diem up to 25 hours per week in a cooperative schedule arrangement meeting the needs of the individual and family. Pay: $20.00 per hour plus mileage reimbursement.
Assist an adult male with daily living skills, helping him find and explore interests and social engagement. Engage in recreational outings, skill‑building opportunities, social situations, and model appropriate behavior. Help the individual meet chosen goals and become more independent and engaged with the community. Complete related records and summaries as specified. Transport the person supported in own vehicle (mileage reimbursement provided).
Key Responsibilities- Engage, assist, instruct, motivate, and monitor individuals in social/recreational, skill building, and family‑directed activities.
- Learn the individualized services of each person and participate in their routine implementation.
- Accompany individual to appointments, social functions, recreational activities, and other planned events as requested by the supervisor, including providing transportation.
- Complete related records as required and instructed by contract or supervisor, per standard format ensuring confidentiality and safe keeping of documents.
- Respond to routine inquiries from visitors, the individual’s family, friends, and allied staff or professionals as outlined in program standards or by the program supervisor.
- Submit weekly or bi‑weekly timesheets with summaries of activities in a timely manner.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must be bilingual in English AND Spanish.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation/vehicle as required by program.
- High school diploma or GED.
- 1 or more years of experience supporting individuals with Autism in a family home, individual residence, and home community.
