CHD's Juvenile Justice Program has an immediate need for Residential Support specialists to provide direct care to our clients. The program works closely with the Department of Youth Services (DYS) to ensure that every youth is given a second chance for a better life.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Supporting clients' safely in their daily activities
- Provide counseling and advocacy services for residents
- Conduct regular group meetings with residents
- Supervise resident movement throughout the shift
- Supervise and manage client behavior through use of program policies, procedures, and systems
- Provide orientation for new residents as they enter the program
- Read and make entries in Daily Log
- Able to react to change productively and to handle other tasks assigned due to changing environments
- Maintain a safe and secure environment for staff and residents
- Ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of adolescent behavioral dynamics
- The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with people, particularly teenagers.
- Must be comfortable working in a locked facility
- Must have a vehicle for work use and current driver's license
- Ability to complete medication administration training
- All candidates must complete and pass background record screening process
Must be able to attend a 3 weeks of DYS basic training academy during the day (8:30am - 5pm) upon hire. Previous experience in a secure setting is preferred
Pay rate: $20/hour
EducationHigh School or better.
