Responsible for the aquatic facility operations including, but not limited to the overall summer swim program, develop and implement orientation, oversee the m and staff, supervising the lifelong team and bath attendants, maintaining the swim facilities, planning and conducting in‑service trainings, maintaining and filing all required paperwork, helping with weekly payroll, disciplining staff as necessary and preventing and responding to emergencies.

Responsibilities
  • Supervising all summer swim program staff
  • Supervising the safety inspections, general care, and cleaning of the facility
  • Enforce all aquatic rules, policies, and regulations to ALL patrons
  • Make sure all paperwork is completed fully and correctly
  • Conduct regular in-service training sessions and document results
  • Make sure the m is working at each facility and train as necessary
  • Instruct, assign, supervise, and evaluate lifeguards in the performance of their duties
  • Train staff on water sanitation/testing procedures and filter systems
  • Document daily activities and staffing patterns- document everything.
Qualifications
  • Thorough knowledge and application of life guarding surveillance and rescue techniques
  • The ability to instruct, assign, supervise, and evaluate lifeguards in the performance of their duties
  • An understanding of facility characteristics, rules, polices, and procedures
  • Leadership and public relation skills
  • Decision making skills / ability to problem solve
  • Supervisory management skills
  • Ability to identify hazards and unsafe practices and to make suitable recommendations for minimizing or eliminating those hazards
  • Application of all forms and proper usage
Experience & Certifications

One year of lifeguard experience preferred.

  • American Red Cross or YMCA Lifeguard Training/First Aid
  • American Red Cross or American Heart CPR for the Professional Rescuer
  • American Red Cross Waterfront Life guarding
  • Instructor Certification is a plus
