Transportation Associate

Are you ready to help Amazon deliver world‑class service in its transportation operations? As a Transportation Associate, you will perform trailer moves in the yard, coordinate yard activities, conduct audits, complete driver training programs, and operate various vehicle types to support Amazon’s transportation network.

• Make safety a priority by adhering to company rules and regulations, enforcing safety measures for all vehicle operators and yard entrants.
• Perform various functions within the yard to support site operations, internal transportation teams, and external carriers, ensuring trailers arrive and depart on time with zero defects.
• Be professionally trained to operate Commercial Motor Vehicles (CMVs) on non‑public roads or in the yard to move trailers to/from docks and parking locations.
• Learn and comply with Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). and company policies on size, weight, routes, parking, trailer designation, reporting, and break periods.
• Complete driver vehicle inspection reports and notify managers of any maintenance or delivery issues.
• Follow hostler and delivery schedules, track and report working hours and breaks in compliance with Amazon policy and federal/state regulations.
• Support the business on an as‑needed basis by serving as a peer trainer and working at nearby site locations.
• Drive, maneuver, and load/unload a truck using approved equipment such as pallet jacks.

• Opportunity to work outside and drive different commercial motor vehicles in the yard and over the road.
• Exposure to various Amazon site types including NACF, NASC, Air, AMZL & AMXL.

• Potential to earn a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) paid for by Amazon, depending on business need.

• Hold a valid and active driver’s license.
• High school or equivalent diploma.
• 21 years of age or older.
• Ability to lift up to 49 pounds and to stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, reach, and ascend/descend stairs for up to 12 hours.
• Work 40 hours per week, with overtime as required.
• Work a flexible schedule, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
• Understand and adhere to all job requirements and safety guidelines in English.
• If required by business need, obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and Driver Qualification File (DQF), and comply with DOT regulations.

• Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with diverse audiences.
• Experience building strong collaborative relationships with colleagues and outside vendors.
• Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
• Completion of a Career Choice CDL course.
• Experience with Microsoft Office products and applications.
