Part-Time Offshore Deckhand — Research Vessel Ops

Deckhands - Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary - Up to $22/hr - Scituate, MA

Cardinal Point Captains, Inc. (CPC) is hiring Deckhands to support NOAA’s Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary fleet based in Scituate, MA. This part-time role supports research, monitoring, and emergency response missions aboard a 50-foot research vessel and smaller support boats. The position requires offshore experience, flexible scheduling, and the ability to assist with technical marine operations. Ideal candidates have strong deck management skills and marine systems experience.

• $18–$22 per hour DOE
• Part-time schedule with 30–40+ hours/week during field season

• Minimum 1 year vessel deck management experience in offshore marine environments
• Experience operating load handling equipment (winches, cranes, A-Frames, davits)
• Experience with ROV, sonar systems, diving operations, and vessel systems
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
• Basic vessel maintenance experience
• NOAA Component Course certification (or ability to obtain)
• Valid driver’s license
• Current First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications
• Ability to work flexible schedules, long hours, weekends, and holidays
