Truck Driver CDL A Transfer Driver

Position Description

Immediate opening for a Solo Class A CDL Truck Driver at Ryder in Springfield, MA. 36‑month or newer trucks, local home daily schedule, Monday–Friday, 7 AM start. The role includes shuttle driving of equipment between customer facilities with no touch, empty trailer freight. All trucks have 24/7 roadside maintenance and fuel at over 800 maintenance facilities.

Weekly pay of $900. Equivalent hourly pay of $22.50 per hour.

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Pass a Ryder drug test
• Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements
• Class A experience: 9 months within past 3 years, or 2 years within last 5 years, or 5 years within last 10 years
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures

• Safely drive a commercial vehicle and comply with safety & DOT regulations
• Maintain accurate records and logs
• Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws and agency rules
• Detect and eliminate safety hazards
• Perform other tasks as assigned
