CDL-A Driver - Class A CDL Northeast Regional

Position Overview

C&S Wholesale Grocers is seeking a Yard Jockey to support a Class A CDL fleet. The role will involve yard moves, providing a critical link between warehouse operations and delivery fleets, driving a jockey wagon and moving trailers safely and efficiently.

• Drive a jockey wagon to move trailers around the distribution center yard and, when required, transit on public roadways.
• Position trailers on dock doors, move them to assigned pads, and bring them to the wash bay.
• Check and log trailer temperature settings for perishable products.
• Complete yard inventory entries in the yard management system.
• Clean, refuel, and perform pre‑trip inspection of the vehicle and trailers.
• Assist with store deliveries, stack salvage materials on pallets, and load/unload retail salvage.
• Operate propane fueling equipment as needed.
• Adhere to environmental and safety requirements in a grocery, freezer, and perishable warehouse setting.

• Valid Class A CDL and current medical card.
• Experience maneuvering and backing trailers (up to 53') with a jockey wagon; tractor‑tanker experience preferred.
• Physical ability to climb up to 4 ft., reach, lift, move, and stand for extended periods.
• Good command of safety procedures, including fall protection and temperature monitoring.
• Strong communication and customer‑service skills.
• Ability to pass a DOT physical and comply with all company policies.
• Work 2nd shift (Sunday, Monday, Thursday, Friday, 12 noon–12 midnight).
• Years of experience: 1–2 years in a similar role (relevant experience).
