Shuttle Driver FT or PT - No CDL required

We are seeking shuttle drivers to work in the Springfield area. We operate a combination of minivans and walk-on 14-passenger vehicles which do not require a CDL.

Drivers earn $20/hour to start. Applicants who already have a CDL (w/ P endorsement) will receive a higher rate and also fill in on other shuttle routes as needed.

Currently, we are seeking FT or PT drivers to work some of the following shifts at local colleges. (These are close to the actual shift times, but some flexibility will be needed).

Here are some of the shifts that we will be looking to fill (Monday through Friday):

  • - 1:45pm-6:30pm
  • - 2:15pm-7:15pm
  • - 1:30pm-3:45pm
  • - 7am-9:15am
  • - 10:30am-6:30pm
  • - Other hours as needed on weekends for charters and other events.

We will consider staff who can work 2, 3, 5, or more shifts per week.

Other hours are also available.

Shuttle Driver
- Job Description

The job responsibilities of a Shuttle Driver may vary depending on the location where the employee is scheduled to work. The responsibilities include but are not limited tothe following:

  • Greeting patrons in a polite manner and assisting them in any way we can
  • Safely shuttling customers to various destinations
  • Opening and closing doors for patrons
  • Adhering to all traffic laws/signs to ensure the safest possible operation of our shuttles
  • Communicating effectively with customers and co-workers. This includes radio contact with management, shuttle drivers, and lot attendants
  • Completing required pre-trip inspections to meet federal as well as company safety requirements
  • Recording passenger counts and trip times
  • Completing necessary paperwork involved in daily operations
  • Assisting in equipment set up and break down (i.e. signs, cones, etc.)
  • Sweeping shuttles and removing debris to ensure cleanliness
  • Communicating mechanical problems with shuttles to management
  • Complying with company procedures for shuttle operations

Due to our insurance regulations, shuttle drivers must be at least 20 years old.

A valid DOT Medical card and drug test are also required. (We will pay for qualified applicants to obtain their medical card if necessary - a simple DOT physical).

Professional driving experience is a plus.

Background checks and driving tests will be conducted.
