Overview
We are searching for an experienced Payroll Accountant at our Tarlton HQ facility.
Responsibilities- Produce union and confidential payroll on a weekly basis including payroll reports, weekly labor reports, and monthly union health and welfare reports.
- Prepare union and confidential payroll and all peripherally associated duties.
- Generate and pay weekly/monthly health and welfare reports.
- Manage vacation/PTO accruals and usage.
- Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual tax reports.
- Manage/coordinate union audits as required.
- Assist HR with benefits administration including reconciling monthly invoices.
- Manage and update union labor rate templates.
- Prepare annual W-2s.
- Process certified payroll reports weekly.
- 401k plan administration including weekly upload, reconciliation, annual reporting
- Reconcile all payroll liability accounts to general ledger.
- Various other duties that may be assigned by the company.

Required QualificationsBEHAVIORAL TRAITS, ATTITUDES, AND SKILLS REQUIRED
- This individual should have patience and be detail oriented. Must be prepared to work with less than ideal input. Must be willing to check the accuracy of rates, union benefits, etc., to ensure fair and accurate output.
- High school education. College would be beneficial.
- Knowledge of basic bookkeeping and accounting is extremely beneficial.
- At least two (2) years of experience in data entry and computer operations
- Intermediate Excel skills including knowledge of xlookups and Pivot Tables
- Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment. If required, the employee may be in a trailer at a jobsite location or maintain an office at the Owner’s facility.
- The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to twenty-five pounds.
- Limited exposure to physical risk.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit and talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop or kneel. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
