Sr Staff Accountant

Position Summary

The Sr Staff Accountant is responsible for overseeing aspects of the financial bookkeeping for Bass Pro Shops. The role includes reconciling accounts, finalizing financial reports for management review, resolving account discrepancies, and verifying financial transactions. Excellent analytical skills and extensive knowledge of accounting principles are required to minimize the company’s financial risk.

• Prepare journal entries and reconciliations related to notes payable, long‑term liabilities, accrued interest, prepaid insurances, intercompany accounts, other assets (current and non‑current), and other accounts as assigned.
• Prepare expense allocations and related journal entries.
• Assist with month‑end and year‑end closings.
• Assist in preparation, review, analysis, and distribution of financial reports.
• All other duties as assigned.

• Minimum Degree
  
  Required:
  
  Accounting degree
• Experience:
  
  5+ years of high‑level accounting experience

• In‑depth understanding of financial statements and ability to analyze the information presented.
• Strong PC skills, including Excel, Word, and Access.
• Detail oriented, able to meet deadlines, and excellent communication skills.
• Experience with AS400 and Essbase (Hyperion) desired.
