Tax Accountant

Job Summary

Responsible for preparing miscellaneous tax returns, ensuring timely payment of all taxes, resolving issues that arise from operations and various taxing jurisdictions, and preparing, calculating, projecting, and performing related assignments.

• Ensure compliance with state and federal tax regulations.
• Review, research, and respond to government notices.
• Reconcile GL accounts and prepare and enter journal entries.

• 2+ years of experience specific to sales and use tax.
• Strong ability to gather, modify, and analyze raw data in Excel.
• Experience with tax research and ability to interpret regulations.
• Commitment to compliance deadlines.
• Excellent oral and written communication.
• Flexibility and ability to work well in a team environment.

• Enter new sales tax rates in operating software and ensure accuracy.
• Perform sales tax technical research and communicate findings to related departments.
• Research tax credits and incentives applicable to the company.
• Assist with special tax projects as necessary.

Located in a comfortable indoor area. Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time. Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position with frequent opportunities to move about. Rare occasions may involve moving or lifting light articles.
