The Humane Society of Missouri is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our Accounting and Finance team as an Accountant. This full-time position offers the opportunity to contribute to the financial operations of our organization while supporting our mission to promote the welfare of animals in need.
Responsibilities- Process accounts payable invoices accurately and timely
- Match purchase orders, receipts, and invoices for approval and payment
- Manage vendor records and maintain accurate account information
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
- Process and monitor payments through the RAMP payment system
- Enter and maintain financial transactions in Microsoft Solomon
- Assist with monthly closing activities and account reconciliations
- Prepare reports and documentation for audits and financial review
Ensure compliance with organizational policies and accounting procedures - Communicate professionally with vendors and internal departments
- Support additional accounting and administrative duties as assigned
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of accounts payable or general accounting experience
- Experience using Microsoft Solomon
- Experience with RAMP expense/payment management platform
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to handle confidential information professionally
- Strong analytical and reconciliation skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Effective written and verbal communication
- Team-oriented mindset with a positive attitude
