Trueline's client, a well-established and highly respected professional services firm with decades of success in Southwest Missouri, is seeking an In-House Accountant to join their growing team in Springfield, MO. WhatYou'll Do as the In-House Accountant:
- Manage the firm's day‑to‑day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities
- Maintain accurate financial records and prepare monthly and year‑end financial reports
- Oversee law firm‑specific accounting functions, including trust accounting and client cost tracking
- Reconcile bank accounts, trust accounts, and general ledger balances
- Utilize Quick Books Online and other financial software to manage daily accounting operations
- Support budgeting, financial analysis, and reporting for firm leadership
- Partner closely with firm leadership and the Office Manager to maintain strong financial operations
- Help modernize and improve accounting processes through technology and process improvements
- Maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive financial information
- 5+ years of accounting experience
- Strong understanding of general accounting principles
- Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial reporting
- Proficiency with Quick Books Online and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work full‑time onsite in Springfield, Missouri
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion
- Experience in legal or professional services accounting
- Experience managing trust accounting
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Experience with Filevine or similar practice management software
- Strong technology aptitude with an interest in improving accounting processes
- Base salary of $75,000-$100,000, depending on experience
- Total compensation opportunity up to approximately $125,000-$130,000 through consistent bonus programs
