Position Overview
Evans & Dixon is seeking a highly organized and personable Receptionist/Legal Assistant to join our legal team in our Springfield, MO office. This dual‑role position serves as the first point of contact for clients and visitors, ensuring a welcoming and professional environment while supporting attorneys and paralegals with essential legal administrative tasks. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, customer‑focused, and thrives in a fast‑paced office setting.
Whatyou’ll do Receptionist Duties
- Manage the front desk, phones, messages, and client greetings
- Schedule and prepare the conference room
- Handle all incoming/outgoing mail, packages, and electronic faxes
- Deliver mail to Fed Ex/UPS/USPS and manage certified mail
- Maintain office and kitchen supplies
- Run errands, including food pickups for meetings and events
- Submit building maintenance and IT requests
- Set up offices, security access, and keys for new hires; assist with offboarding tasks
- Print and deliver checks in coordination with the Accounting Department
- Serve as the administrative point of contact for the Springfield office
- Transcribe and draft pleadings, correspondence, contracts, memos, and statements
- Assist with dictation overflow for attorneys and legal staff
- Support e‑filing on Case Net when needed
- Maintain case files, scan documents into the document management system, and manage paper filing
- Review and correct attorney BIMS entries in LMS before release
- Ensure prompt and reliable attendance
- Friendly and professional demeanor
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Problem‑solving mindset with attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Self‑motivated with a strong work ethic
- Ability to provide administrative support to all team members
- Excellent communication skills both in‑person and over the phone
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a receptionist, administrative, or customer service role
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Familiarity with multi‑line phone systems and office equipment
Compensation will be based on experience level and client orientation.
