Job Summary
St. Gerald Catholic Church, located in Gerald, Missouri, has an opening for a part‑time Office Manager. This position plays a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of parish activities. It oversees administrative processes, manages office resources, coordinates with parish ministries, and helps maintain a productive and efficient workplace. Some main duties include answering phone calls and responding to emails for the parish, maintaining parish census, cemetery, and sacramental records, compiling and publishing the weekly bulletin, preparing and sending parish correspondence, maintaining the parish calendar and event schedules, and assisting the pastor with parish financial matters.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail‑oriented, and able to work independently.
- Oversee and coordinate all administrative functions to ensure efficient office operations.
- Manage office supplies, equipment, and vendor relationships, including procurement and maintenance.
- Develop and implement office policies, procedures, and organizational systems.
- Serve as the main point of contact for building management, IT, and other service providers.
- Assist with budget tracking, expense reports, and financial documentation.
- Maintain parish records, files, and databases in accordance with confidentiality and compliance standards.
- Support onboarding and HR administrative functions, including new hire paperwork and training logistics.
- Ensure a safe, clean, and professional working environment.
- Associate’s degree from a two-year college plus two years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and office management software.
- Knowledge of budgeting, procurement, and facility management best practices.
- Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.
