About State Technical College of MissouriState Technical College of Missouri (State Tech) is a two‑year college in Missouri offering AAS degrees in General Automotive and High‑Performance Automotive. The program equips students with the knowledge and hands‑on experience needed for success in today’s automotive industry.
Position OverviewThis full‑time, 9‑month annual contract position is exempt and benefit eligible. The Automotive Technology Instructor will provide high‑quality instruction and assist in course development within the Automotive Technology program.
Responsibilities- Teach courses in Automotive Electronics, Engines, Brake Systems, Suspension and Steering, Drive trains and Axles, Hybrid/Electric Vehicles, and Light‑Duty Diesel.
- Advise students, support learning and progression, and maintain strong industry connections.
- Contribute to the continued success of the program.
- 5 years of work experience in the automotive industry, with preference for dealership experience.
- Current ASE certification.
- A bachelor's degree or willingness to obtain one.
- Excellent communication, computer, and interpersonal skills.
- Prior teaching or training experience.
- Five or more years of related experience in automotive electrical/electronic systems, electric/hybrid, or high‑performance automotive systems.
