Brief Description
Under general supervision, the Product Specialist is responsible for assessing customer needs, monitoring product lifecycle and assisting product management with product development. You may also perform customer research, stay on top of current trends and analyze the market to assist product management in developing new products and services.
Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
- Experience working with technical product lines, preferred.
- Skilled at working effectively with cross-functional teams in an organization.
- Strong problem-solving skills. Driven by deadlines.
- Knowledge of Confluence/JIRA a plus.
- Excellent presentation skills to large and small, demanding technical audiences.
- Ability to keep information in confidence.
- Extremely strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Develops a deep understanding of all DMP products by: working with DMP product managers, dealer visits and discussions to identify and fill product gaps while generating new ideas that grow market share, improve customer experience and drive growth.
- Effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, with engineering, software quality assurance, internal and external customers providing clear direction, planning, clarification, guidance, decisions, status, and issue resolution.
- Create detailed product specifications based on direction from product managers.
- Assists product managers to create buy-in for the product vision both internally and with key external partners.
- Assists product managers in prioritizing activities based on business and customer impact.
- Works closely with the Project Manager and cross-functional teams to deliver quality products, services, training, and support with quick time-to-market. Drives product launches.
- Represents DMP by attending trade show events and visiting customers to solicit feedback on company products and services.
- Evaluates technical writing documents and promotional plans to ensure that they are consistent with the product line strategy and that the message is effectively conveyed. Acts as a product evangelist to build awareness and understanding.
- Observes and adheres to DMP Data Classification Standard.
