WORLDWIDE AIRCRAFT SERVICES PROFESSIONAL EXPECTATION STATEMENT:

POSITION

PURPOSE:
  • Along with the Shop Manager the Production Manager is responsible for providing daily direction and oversight to the production department. This role serves as an administrative entity for the ongoing repair and maintenance activity being accomplished at Worldwide Aircraft Services. The Production Manager will work closely with the Shop Manager, Manager of Technical Services, and the Chief inspector as well as the entire internal Worldwide Aircraft Services staff.

    A deep knowledge base of the Worldwide Aircraft Services policies and procedures, as well technical expertise, are required to be successful in this leadership role. The position involves mentoring the mechanic staff, policy enforcement and production optimization.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
  • The Production Manager is responsible to the Shop Manager.
  • In addition, the Production Manager shall:
    • Manage contract and direct hire maintenance technicians and the in-work aircraft.
    • Ensure personnel assigned and trained are aware of the customer’s requirements.
    • Review planned aircraft work scopes for content and ensure parts are provided through purchasing as required.
    • Plan maintenance activities to provide for minimum aircraft downtime and balanced workload.
    • Plan and schedule all special project work from sources both within and outside of the Maintenance Department.
    • Coordinate with the CI and the GM on the accomplishment of ADs, service bulletins, and engineering changes.
    • Compile and issue work documents for all work to be performed on aircraft / components.
    • Constantly review all work documents and their updating.
    • Schedule aircraft / components for maintenance in liaison with customers and vendors.
    • Ensure each aircraft is properly maintained in accordance with applicable customer policies, procedures, and applicable CFRs.
    • Initiate requests to the CI for recurrent, remedial, and/or any other additional training of maintenance personnel.
    • Evaluate and recommend changes in the inspection and maintenance process.
    • Approve technician timecards.
    • Approve and audit Repair Station regular hours and overtime.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by the Shop Manager
    • In cases when there are multiple shifts working the same day assigned to a project, ensure the Aircraft Maintenance Technician (AMT) supervisor going off duty gives a detailed and accurate turnover to the AMT supervisor coming on duty to ensure proper completion of work in progress. Turnover will be given in writing using Shift Turnover Log Page - AMT (WM-303).
    • Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Airframe and Powerplant Mechanics Certification
  • Minimum five (5) years or more of diversified aircraft and engine maintenance and repairs preferred.
  • Knowledge of aircraft, accessories, components, fasteners, and other hardware.
SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Knowledge and Experience with the following aircraft are preferred but not required: ATR, Embraer EMB-120, EMB-135/145, Fairchild SA226/227, Saab SF340A/B, S2000, Beechcraft King Air.
  • Engine run and taxi qualifications on the aircraft maintained by Worldwide Aircraft Services. Experience in 135, 121 and 145 operations.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
  • Along with the Shop Manager is responsible for all production personnel.
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
  • RII recognition training
  • EWIS training
  • Human Factors training
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:
  • They may be exposed to extreme noise from turbine and jet engine aircraft.
  • Will handle dirty parts and lubricants.
